Who I am
I'm Edo, an abstract painter. Since childhood, I've been drawn to creating swirling, winding, and flowing organic lines in my drawings and paintings. I love using vibrant colors, though black almost always finds its way into my work. While I sometimes venture into different themes and styles, I find that the moment I leave behind my own signature forms, the work no longer feels like an honest reflection of who I am within.
My creative process is driven by intuition rather than planning, with the selection of just a few base colors being the only conscious choice I make. After the first brushstroke, the form of the painting begins to reveal itself organically, with my hand serving as a mere tool. It’s as if my inner self — my subconscious, perhaps my emotions — are projected onto the canvas. What fascinates me most is how these works resonate with the viewer: how they perceive and interpret what I’ve created, and the personal associations they draw from my paintings.
In my current creative phase, I am deeply engaged with the use of gold leaf in my work. Both the act of applying it and the finished result bring me a profound sense of satisfaction. For me, gold symbolizes warmth and carries with it a subtle, almost mystical energy.
Though I am deeply immersed in and grateful for this current phase, I can’t help but wonder where the currents of creativity will carry me in the days to come.
